New Year Resolutions

Dear friends, wish you and your family a very Happy New Year 2021.

Making resolutions for the New Year is a tricky affair. You make New Year resolutions, break many of them, and feel terrible about it. Why not try the following wish list instead that can be like a sumptuous buffet spread on a Sunday afternoon - you can eat as much as you like depending on how hungry you are.

Starters: (pick any two)

  • I will try to get up early as you can accomplish 30% more during 5 am to 10 am.
  • I will walk at least for 30 minutes 4 times a week to stay physically fit.
  • I will meditate / pray / visualize positive things or do yoga for 30 minutes every day.
  • I will switch to at least one healthy item in my daily diet.
  • I will pick up at least one task every day that is important but not urgent.

Main course (pick any four)

  • I will train my brain to think creatively every day. I will try to do puzzles to stimulate my brain muscles.
  • I will read at least one book every month as reading results in continuous learning.
  • I will invest in more in my relationships, will take out quality time for my family and friends.
  • I will find at least one task every day that is not my core competence and delegate it to improve my effectiveness.
  • I will at least take one risky decision, which I was always scared to take
  • I will reduce my mobile usage by 30%, to save my precious time.
  • I will be sensitive to others and listen to what they say.
  • I will do at least one thing every day that I enjoy and makes me truly happy.
Dessert (pick as many as you like)
  • I will take at least one vacation in a year, go to a place that I have not seen.
  • I will make at least one new friend.
  • I will call two old friends, whom I have not spoken for years.
  • I will devote at least one day every week for myself only. No business calls, no laptop. Does not matter, how big my business/position is. I have got only 52 weekends. I will not let anybody spoil them.
  • I will smile at everyone I meet, even to the liftman, taxi driver, peon.
  • I will laugh often, including laughing at myself..
  • I will do one thing, which I was always fearful about.
  • I will do at least one thing every week to help someone else.
